Why Choose Valerian Homes
Most people who reach out to us have already hit a wall. Contractors who never called back. Bids that came back with numbers that made no sense, padded for unknowns that were never explained. Builders who seemed engaged at first, then went quiet once the contract was signed. Or a process that felt like it was designed to confuse rather than help.
That experience is more common than it should be. Building or remodeling a home should not feel like you are working against the people hired to help you.
We work differently. Our clients choose us because they want honesty and dependable follow-through from a builder who treats their investment with the same care they do.
Every project starts with a real conversation about how you live and what you want your home to feel like when it is done. From there, we guide each decision step by step. We explain how choices affect cost and long-term value before they are made. We walk selections with clients, stay in contact during permitting, and remain available through the build and well beyond it.
When we say we will stand with you through this process, we mean it.
About Jason & Valerian Homes
Jason’s career in construction did not begin in an office. It began on job sites, starting with cleanup and working upward through every phase of building a home. Over more than twenty years in the field, he gained deep hands-on experience in framing and project management, all the way through to running full custom home builds across Josephine and Jackson counties.
That background matters. When you have personally worked through every stage of a build, you understand which details create problems down the line, how to catch issues before they become expensive, what can be addressed quickly, and how to keep a project moving when things get complicated.
Valerian Homes was founded in 2008, during one of the most difficult periods in the construction industry. While other contractors were closing their doors, we focused on doing things the right way. Many of the subcontractors we work with today have been with us since the early years. That kind of loyalty does not happen without real mutual respect.
The name Valerian comes from a natural root known for its calming properties. It reflects how we believe this process should feel. Building a home is a significant investment and an emotional one. With steady guidance and honest communication, it does not have to feel chaotic. It can feel clear and genuinely rewarding.
